Excel Exports - Need to have the columns exported to the right data format

Currently when we extract a report to excel from Saleslink, all of the data comes across as a text file so formulas etc won't work. That means all users need to go through the report and manually configure the columns to the right format before doing any analysis, each time they do an extract.

Having this work better for people will help encourage the self service use of Saleslink for the BI needs.

Great! Please make it so and make sure when you request to Export to Excel that the file exports as an Excel file and NOT a webpage! Thanks.

We feel this would be beneficial for all reports exported from a Sales Link application. Currently, iMacs and SMax are 2 applications where time is spent converting the numbers from text to numeric formats.

I Agree, I think this could be categorized as a Bug? When a user exports to Excel the file is a .xls but the number fields are all 'general' format & not recognised as numbers. users need to highlight their spreadsheet & convert to number before they can filter number columns

When exporting the Customer Coverage report, make sure the format that it is exporting in is EXCEL, not .CSV and have the customer number field set to TEXT, so leading 0 or $ are not lost when the report is saved.

Agreed! For some reason the exports show up as Web page format when you select to Export to Excel.
