Repurpose "No SIMS Record When Required" Hold-Up to Enhance Review Process (WesTrac)

In ServiceLink, there is currently a system-generated hold-up titled "No SIMS record when required." However, this hold-up is not functioning effectively due to its interaction with the "Review Complete" logic during segment completion. Specifically, if a SIMS requirement exists and no SIMS has been raised, the system blocks the segment from progressing—effectively acting as a hard stop.

This behavior limits the usefulness of the hold-up and does not contribute meaningfully to the review process. I propose repurposing this hold-up into a non-blocking prompt that adds value without disrupting workflow.

Suggested Enhancement:

  • Rename the hold-up to "Check Work Order SIMS"

  • Modify its behavior to act as a prompt, not a hard stop

  • Purpose: Encourage users to verify whether a SIMS entry is appropriate before closing the work order

This change would maintain process integrity while improving user awareness and compliance with SIMS requirements, ultimately enhancing the quality of work order reviews.

This would encourage users to verify whether a SIMS entry is appropriate for the work order before closure, without enforcing a mandatory stop. This approach would maintain process integrity while improving user awareness and compliance with SIMS requirements.
updates the held up since ServiceLink has evolved and it no longer serves its initial function.
