Users can edit their name and email in CloudLink

Problem:

Users periodically want/need to update their name and email in CloudLink.

Current process:

Log into CloudLink with a new email address creates a second account, which then prompts a Support ticket to merge the old and new account. Sometimes this takes Texada weeks, which causes customer frustration and fractured activity history between the old and new accounts.

Recommendation:

To empower dealers to make these changes directly within the UI, eliminating the need for Technical services ticket escalations and Pull Requests, resulting in a faster and more efficient experience.

Key Features:

  1. User-Friendly Edit Functionality:

    1. Add an "Edit" option within the User Account section in CloudLink console.

  1. Allow authorized admins to update the first name, last name, and email address of any user.

  2. Seamless Backend Integration:

    1. Update all linked systems and dependencies (e.g., authentication, databases) in real time to ensure consistency and avoid errors.

  3. Benefits:

    1. Improved Customer Experience: Dealers can independently manage user updates, reducing dependency on the support team.

    2. Reduced Support Overhead: Fewer tickets and manual PRs, freeing up internal resources for other tasks.

    3. Faster Turnaround Time: Immediate updates without waiting for manual processing.

    4. Enhanced Security: Built-in validation and notification features reduce the risk of errors or unauthorized changes.

By implementing this enhancement, dealers will experience greater autonomy and efficiency in managing their user data, while the organization benefits from reduced operational burden and improved customer satisfaction.
