Can't link an Activity to an Opportunity in Flex

Users can create an activity from a lead or Opportunity however they can not link an opportunity to an activity.

When a user creates an activity from the customer view there is no area available to associate the activity to an opportunity. however, users you create an activity from an opportunity & when done this way the opportunity number is displayed in the activity.
Can we please have the field made available in a new activity to link to a Lead or Opportunity.
