Date Viewer / Editor for iMACS

Description

The Goal of the iMACS Date Viewer / Editor is to give iMACS Users the ability to view all of the dates within a project in a coherent manner, while enabling the ability to edit multiple dates at the same time.

*note: an extensive amount of work has already gone into this idea. This specific idea is finishing the work to complete Phase 1.

Phase 1 - Date Viewer

There are two areas where this viewer will be available. The first one is within the Stock -> Stock # Information -> Project Schedule view as exemplified below:

1) Project Schedule Tab - This new viewer is what will replace the current Project Schedule table

2) Nesting - The dates presented will be nested under the Main Project. Each Stock Number has its own subset of dates. The example above is not intended to be a complete view of all of the dates, but every date with a stock number will be listed. The current Stock number will be expanded. By default, all other stock numbers will be collapsed, but available to expand and modify.

3) Rows Of Events - All dates will be presented within the Stock Number view mirroring the current order as displayed
3.1) Each row will be linked to the source page where the date came from
3.2) Hovering over the link will reveal a tool tip showing where the item is from the left navigation, and tab title, for where the link goes to.

4) Duration and Start Date - As each of the events have a start date, the date will be displayed. If the date is a milestone, then the date will be presented with 0 days duration

5) Phases and End Dates - Where an event has a start date and an end date, the end date will be displayed with the duration being the delta between the start and end date. For the Header for a nested section, the last date in the section within the nest will be the presented last date.

6) Status - In the first column will be a general status column. This will have one of 4 options:
6.1) If all dates have passed, then it will be marked as "done".
6.2) If the date is in the future, then it will present the number of days until that date.
6.3) If the event is a phase where there are more than one date, then the number of days until the next date in the phase will be presented.
6.4) If the event only has a start and end date, and the current date is between the two then the end date will act as the delta date.

7) Change Log - Each modification of the date will be logged displaying each 1) Type of change, 2) date of change, and 3) who (or how) the date changed

8) Notification (Future enhancement) - The ability to send yourself this date to remind yourself in your own calendar

9) Edit Feature - Clicking this will give the ability to edit the date or series of dates. The following exemplified the editing of a milestone (#10 below).
9.1) If the event is not editable, then the edit icon will not be displayed.

    General Description
iMACS is structured to present dates and statuses in a number of different places. However, until now, there hasn’t been a single place where you could get a holistic view of all dates in an easy to use and navigate fashion. In order to save time, and reduce frustration the iMACS date viewer feature presents all of the dates for a project, with an easy to navigate user experience.
    This projects completes work underway.

Hello Hector, I see this idea was marked as Shipped, but I don't see the changes in PROD or Sandbox currently. Am I missing something? I was disappointed to see the other phases were cancelled. Thank you. Deborah
