Overview
Fault Code Colors should be Yellow, Orange, Red. There is no such thing as a good fault code, green indicates good and can mislead users and create lost opportunity.
Description
The CM Portal fault code colors are matched to other buckets in the Portal, but do not accurately represent fault codes and corresponding issues. This creates a loss of opportunity to identify and take action on an issue with a customer machine (customer experience, repair in one visit, perception of quality service, lost revenue, possible lost production for customer).
CM data comparison
SOS data is tagged Red, Yellow, Green across many systems. This makes sense and is correct in the CM Portal
Inspection data is tagged Red, Yellow, Green across many systems. This also makes sense and is accurate in the CM Portal
Fault Codes are flagged Red, Orange, Yellow in other systems. The CM Portal should not color code a level 1 fault code as green. Green = good, and is not an accurate representation. A fault code is a fault, and is a problem.
Even a level 1 (currently green) low engine oil pressure event code should be investigated. While many Full Time CM Portal users understand this, the Uptake suite is integrated across the dealer. Inspectors, team leads, technicians, advisors, dispatchers, etc. may fail to look at the green fault codes during their investigation of machine health as they otherwise would think everything green is good and does not require attention.
